welcome to Lakeland Village home of the Bulldogs are school has students in grades T K through 8 our school is built upon the six character traits of trustworthiness respect caring responsibilities citizenship and fairness LDS week it is important for all students to feel comfortable cared for and safe although middle and elementary grade levels there are many different different teachers this means you have to keep yourself very organized saying organize will greatly reduce your level of stress and make it easier to get good grades speaking of grades there no more number grades in Middle School your grades are actual letter grades and and are very important your grades in Middle School will determine which classes your place for a nice cool also if you don't at least a 2.0 if you will not be able to play in any school sports each year we have three intramural sports teams who compete with the other Middle School team District don't be late not waste your time between classes talking to your friends or walking in the opposite direction of your class you only have 3 minutes to get from one class to the next you should be in your seat when the bell rings for the next class not just barely walking in the door it is also important for you to be prepared for class each day your teacher will not give you your school supplies be sure to bring a pencil paper and anything else that your teacher asks you to bring many teachers in middle school do not accept late assignment be sure to turn in all of your work on time if you are struggling to understand your assignment support plus also provide peer tutoring need of help if you need to talk to someone about person or two issues your counselor is always there to help to speak with your counselor assembly ask your teacher for a pass want to take an art class at Lakeland Village School and you don't know what to expect for some art projects that we made this year at Lakeland Village and as you could see creative you can learn how art works with pencil charcoal Crayons pictures which are like stories to express yourself with a person that likes our classroom top 10 don't go Wolfenstein don't waste your time YouTube step away from the Super Bowl what is the temperature can you show me where we are the aftermath of our haunted house we serve our veterans have the Veterans Day ceremony working on Sunday is 94 Middle School old school together for a peace sign showing off Spirit flight black and white how long have you been an avid then why did you choose to be in it and I would stoop 7th grade and I joined because of the phone cuz it's because it's over with my grades and I've been on top send a message to every Friday we had different activities to do Super Saiyan without either parties or like Anna healthy help you with college tutors that help with with other classes toriel's are when you are the highway about being in a family bond will be stronger and I was a former student go to UCSD we got to go to the safari park I don't forget okay so how did Middle School Avid help you prepare for high school pair for high school Middle School Avid has helped me prepare for high school because it's always helps me stay on task with my grades when I answered High School he's very light you can tell her anything to when I was struggling something it was horrible in math and Chili's on ways to help me out to get my grade up place like a fun environment Natalie has been apart of Abington statistics. I think in terms of David I really learn to build a good work ethic and a sense of responsibility which you carry out throughout high school and got a really important that you learn how to manage your time which is what helps you in high school and not only did they teach you a good work ethic and responsibility we do get to visit a few colleges which really opened my eyes and middle schools that have important and how serious College was that is just really push me and motivated me to continue on through Ovid as a senior now being accepted into three colleges UC Riverside to San Diego State and Cal State Northridge UC or Cal Poly Pomona and San say as well as other schools with best out of state and drive it I was able to apply to some the scholarships that I can get in school score New York I got $36,000 Watershed that is renewable over for years so basically all my tuition is covered for so if your grades really do in fact a lot so like you always want to strive for those A's and B's cuz in the end it'll really pay off a currently been accepted at 3 different colleges on CB Cal State Fullerton & NAU so call his troops in middle school they were really helpful with a car showed you what. You could be on after high school can I showed you what it takes to get there my name is Brenda and I or Cal State San Marcos Cal Poly Pomona boards and antisepsis of and an avid in high school has really helped me especially with college trips because going on a field trip have a clean corrosion find a 410 San Marcos and like their school's out of actually like I said they're going to because of you open my eyes and had to leave hi I'm a surprise on the band director here at Lakeland Village and I've been asked to put together a short video explain why you might want to consider joining band in 6th grade I can think of several reasons I guess the first one is the most obvious and it's it's that you get to learn a new skill how to play an instrument and and more importantly get to learn how to read music music is very it's a very interesting skill and there's been a lot of research that proves that learning to read music and play instrument is good for your brain development help your left and right hemispheres communicate with each other France and increase lots of connections with people and it feels like family it also gives you a break from regular school work another reason that you might want to consider band for 6th grade teaches you how to get along with others and more importantly personal responsibility cuz the band is kind of like a team and that when one person doesn't do their job then it kind of hurts the whole team so ban is great at teaching responsibility and and also how to get along with others another thing you might want to consider it a lot of times we will take trips and we go to competitions where judges will listen to us or watch as March find out they'll read us some of the trips we take that we usually go to to Disneyland each year and I perform their economic assistance to me you can play one of your favorite songs like mine. Soviet National Anthem I really love that and I pray everyday you can practice take it home free amazing Flute from bone tuba trumpet clarinet saxophone tenor sax and much more the teachers really amazing like for my favorite my number one I got to say and we'll tennis refund which is really fun to I really hope to see the fifth graders go to bed and have a break from your day from your every every day school day and that you can come to the band room play some music and enjoy each other's company and kind of do something completely different that's not like a normal class so I think you need to think about it if you weren't in band in 5th grade it doesn't matter if you can still join in 6th grade and you'll be fine thick for the kids that were banned in 5th grade and you want to continue to play your same instrument great we'd love to have you and and you'll be a little like a step ahead of everybody else if you want if you are in band but you want to play something different say you play the flute decided that maybe the flutes not your thing do you want to play the saxophone or the clarinet or the tuba or something else then we can easily switch you to a different instrument and since we have band everyday it'll become a little easier to learn that instrument so I hope you consider having van as your elective for 6th grade and I can guarantee you you'll learn a lot and have a great time hello I'm mrs. Moses and this is the computer lab I teach you were in this class for a whole year it is like math or science or band when you take this class you learn and practice with many different apps on the computers what are the programs we learn and work with is Microsoft Office which includes word Excel PowerPoint and publisher next year in Publisher we're going to make Chopper shirts for our own company here's a sample front page here's the back page of the brochure here is what the inside looks like here are some more samples of job brochures after we finish with my crush office we go on to other programs one of my favorites is Photoshop Elements I'm going to start with a black and white picture so here we have the before and after pictures another reaches a person who has passed or maybe not create next year we're going to be we're going to play the computer love gestation of their own and they're not everybody learns and is able to produce really fantastic stuff in area so I welcome you questions for peer leaders uniting students this means that our job at the plants team is to make sure that all students on campus feel included and safe our goal is to create a positive School climate here at LDS plus students are committed to being leaders on campus and setting a good example for others one way beta positive School climate is through the use of our school forms during forums we invite students were not in the + elected to be part of a group discussion about issues that students on her campus are facing we brainstorm together to try to find ways to support students going Deschutes another way we identify areas of needs is through the use of online surveys these surveys are created by the bus team and allow us to address the most important issues on our campus we also try to create event invite on our campus by hosting lunchtime games and activities so that students have something fun to do at lunch these activities are for all students and usually take place on the stage lastly are students look for opportunities to create dismiss students who may need a little Boost Plus students are expected to be someone who other students can look to for support plus also looks for opportunities to do Manatee service outside of the school we collect supplies for homeless and displaced families and deliver them to project touch so that they can be distributed to those in need we provide pure tutoring to students who are feeling stressed by school work or having a time understanding their assignment we work with Elementary grade students by teaching them how to use apps on the iPad helping them with their school work and volunteering in their classrooms we are also raising money to build a well in a like I said that communities without water can have fresh drinking water bus takes several team-building field trips throughout the year as well as trips to deliver Supply we have collected four different organizations some of the trips that we have taken in food Knott's Berry Farm Santa Monica pier and the Anaheim Ducks game we also partner with both David and I can't be to attend the district leadership conference Beach you must be in seventh or eighth grade to be impressed Mrs will Danny will be handing out applications in April to interested in applying please be sure to submit your application by the deadline vases and pots are limited and applications will not be accepted after the due date
