hi everyone my name is mrs. Martinez and I teach 6th grade math and science at Lakeland Village welcome to back to school night I'm about me I have two children I have a son you keep sucking your soul and I have a daughter named Laura is 15 I am married and I live in Fallbrook I've been teaching now for 9 years and this is my first year at Lakeland Village and I love teaching maths with my nightshirt favorite foods are cream cheese wontons and chicken wallet just a reminder for all parents that school does start at 8 The Bell the first bell rings at 7:57 and class starts we at 8 so please make sure that your student child arrives on time I'm so they avoid being marked tardy and so they don't miss important information my classroom expectations I do have five rolls and respectful and kind no cell phone so please make sure that your child knows to silence their phone and make sure it's in their backpack to show honesty always do their best and to take turns additional resources for students if they are struggling or just needs additional support there is YouTube Khan Academy they can practice on imagine math facts which is fitted under clever and then also just use the internet this year for science will be using amplify curriculum and format we use Big Ideas all right now from Mass what I'm focusing on is review of concepts of long division multiplying 3 digits by 2 digits and adding and subtracting with regrouping and that's what we're focusing on this week is just those reminder and for science we are starting our unit we started today and it is on geology on Mars I'm in order to see grades on canvas go ahead and do this so this is what your students will look like the when they go to view their first highest so this is from Mathis is welcome to Missy Martinez bass and the contact me button is active s o you can see that there's my email address there's my phone with my extension and then we ever did have to go virtual this  link is located right there and this is StudentVue and I have all the week's posted here so we're in our first week it's hyper and it takes them to a weekly schedule I so this is what we're doing this week and so as soon as they were absent they can go and check that out and then this is hyperlink also so I have additional things have like specific things were doing like edpuzzle we started and so these are the class codes for them to join and then extra help I posted videos there and then they could also you their main stage as well oops, go ahead and leave and I'm going to click on earth science or Sciences but we're focusing on this year and G Jim Marrs so any information that they need to access will be located in here all right going back to this all right so for grading classwork is 25% of their grade tester 65% and quizzes is a 10% of the grade my late policy is that all assignments be reduced in value the day after it is due can any late work from the previous week must be turned in by the next Monday for instance anything that was due today or 2 yesterday or do tomorrow the last day any work this week is the next Monday when they walk into class and then once it is late every day gets marked down a little bit all right I want to show you or class and so if I were to go to Lakeland Village School and then go down to the Sea directory my name is Melissa you can also type it into the search bar all right so there it says welcome to Miss Martinez 6th grade website and there's some information about and the Subscribe button and so is her post from last week and I like to post pictures for when students are doing collaborative I meant and projects so they were working on an art project last week this is my sixth. Class this is my 4th. Class and that is my first period class and all the students did this view Pic Collage said this one is about me and so you guys should subscribe to that page I do post pictures so you can see what's going on with your students in class your children lastly I have my contact information so if you ever need to contact me you can reach me via email or phone or parents where am I to respond within 24 hours I would say the fastest a true contact me is either by email or the parents were and then there's my phone number again so please reach out to me if you have any questions and I do hope that this is a very successful year starting to with review just to make sure that they're up to speed before we jump into the 6th grade book and then speaking of the 6th grade math book as students do want to leave it in my classroom I do have them locked inside of the cabinet I don't have to carry it back and forth on my new I know that having those me textbooks in their bags could be extremely heavy so that's a little bit about me please let me know if you ever need to contact me or have any concerns thank you have a good night
